Wednesday, July 9th at 2:00 – Pumpernickel Puppets “The Frog Prince” (No sign up) Pumpernickel Puppet shows are presented with a cast of colorful puppet characters, audience participation, live voices and sound effects and fast paced scripts that educate as well as entertain. A demonstration period follows every performance giving the audience some insight into what happens behind the scenes. (www.pumpernickelpuppets.com)
Wednesday, July 16th at 10:00 – Toe Jam Puppet Band “Toe Jam in Outer Space” (No sign up) Come tap your toe with the Toe Jam Puppet Band. Toe Jam’s performances are very active with original songs, puppets, storytelling and lots of activities. (www.toejampuppetband.com)
Wednesday, July 23rd at 3:00 – Magic by Scott Jameson (No sign up) This show is comprised of magic, juggling, and comedy routines, many of which are choreographed to music. The balance of the show will feature members of the audience who will be called on to participate both from the audience, and onstage. (www.scottjameson.com)
Monday, July 28th at 7:00 – Night Sky with Aldrich Astronomical Society. (No sign up) Come learn about space and the night sky. Hands on activities with models and storytelling will be provided.
Wednesday, July 30th at 2:00pm – Movie Day. (No Sign up) The Hudson Public Library presents a comical animated Paramount movie based on a boy genius who loves to invent things that end in destruction. Please contact the library for more information. (Refreshments will be served)
Wednesday, August 6th at 2:00 – Sun, Moon, Stars, Shine! (No Sign Up) Using ancient cultural stories, songs & even an audience -enacted play, Maichack the storyteller, shares the celebration of the gift of light that all cultures embrace. The program opens with an original title song that the audience can echo. Then come stories and more songs, including an engaging Tlingit (Native American) tale of Raven's Gift of Light, in which the trickster bird disguised as a little boy recovers the stolen sun, moon, and stars and gives them back to the world; an Asian folktale, The Two Brothers, that answers the question, how did the face get on the moon? In this story, two brothers, one rich, the other poor, treat a broken-winged sparrow in different ways, with appropriate rewards from the wise sparrow. Wednesday, August 13th at 1:30 – Violet the Clown Closing Program for Listeners! (No Sign Up) Violet the Clown starts off by showing the audience how she puts on her make up. This helps the kids not be afraid of her when she becomes a clown. After she’s transformed into a clown, she will then perform a ½ hour magic show while we wait for the Ice Cream truck. Thursday, August 14th at 1:30 – Closing Program for Readers! It’s going to be hot in August so come have an Ice Cream and see if you’ve won one of the great prizes that are offered this year!
Wednesday, August 20th at 2:00 – Animal Adventures: An Education Experience. (No Sign Up) Animal Adventures feature a hands-on approach to learning about animals. Animals are presented in an entertaining, exciting, and educational way. Come see possibly a snake, hedgehog or maybe even a crocodile. www.animaladventures.net
